Introducing Narcity Shows, our new digital show network

For a long time, Narcity has been in the business of helping people discover what’s happening around them.

But increasingly, some of the most interesting conversations aren't happening in articles. They're happening in podcasts, video shows and the clips that come out of them.

Today, we're introducing Narcity Shows, a new digital broadcast network built around great conversations, strong personalities and independent shows.

The idea is pretty simple.

There are incredible creators and hosts already producing great shows across Canada. They don't necessarily need another media company telling them what to create.

What they can use is more distribution.

That's where Narcity comes in.

Narcity Shows partners with existing shows and helps bring their best moments to much larger audiences through Narcity, MTL Blog and our social channels.

We're starting with three shows:

  • The Pal’s, hosted by Ricky Liorti and Dani Galarneau, featuring unscripted conversations with athletes, builders and creators.
  • Pas Ordinaire, hosted by Samuel Beaudry, featuring entrepreneurs, creators and personalities with unconventional paths to success.
  • Gent’s Talk, hosted by Samir Mourani, focused on men's wellness, mental health and resilience.

And this is just the beginning.

Building a different kind of media network

We've spent the last few years thinking a lot about what the next generation of a media company should look like.

We don't believe the answer is simply producing more content ourselves.

We believe media companies can also become distribution infrastructure for great independent creators and shows.

Narcity already reaches millions of Canadians through our websites and social platforms. Narcity Shows allows us to use that distribution to help independent programming find new audiences, while giving Narcity's audience access to more personalities, perspectives and conversations.

For advertisers, it also creates something increasingly difficult to buy: the ability to become part of a conversation people actually chose to watch.

Brands can integrate directly into shows through episode sponsorships and short-form content, with campaigns extending across the larger Narcity network.

For creators, the goal is equally straightforward: keep building your show and your audience while we help make that audience bigger.

We're excited to see where this goes.

Welcome to Narcity Shows.
